Things are really starting to shake out now and I’m starting to get a good idea of who’s who. The Week 3 Stats are available here.
30. Dion Lewis (LW: 26) — 13 Rush Yds, -3 Rec.
Lewis didn’t do much, but I’ve still go a good feeling about the possibility of him seeing some action later on in the season. I apparently lied about Jonathan Baldwin because he’s really to start to get on my nerves. Baldwin’s out of his customary Number 30 spot.
29. Greg Salas (LW: 21) — 48 Rec Yds.
Salas is still interesting, but I guess we’ll have to wait until that St. Louis team clicks. Jackson will have to get healthy because Cadillac Williams is driving me nuts.
28. Tawain Jones (LW: UNRK) — 12 Rush Yds, -5 Rec Yds
This has almost as much to do with McFadden’s success as Jones’ limited playing time. The Raiders look to be a solid game and while Bush is number two, Jones would probably be called upon to fill Run-DMC’s shoes.
27. Vincent Brown (LW:25) – none
Finally getting into the game, but with just one target. It’ll slowly come together for this kid. Lots of upside in that offence, especially with Ryan Mathews finally clicking.
26. Alex Green (LW: 27 ) – none
Still dinged up, but I can’t give up on him.
25. Kyle Rudolph (LW: 19) — 54 REC Yds
Lord only knows when this Vikings team will click, if it ever does.
24. Colin Kaepernick (LW:20) – none.
The Niners got a big win against Cincinnati, but I’m still worried about their offence. At some point, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Hunter and Kaepernick behind the O-Line.
23. Jake Ballard (LW:UNRK) – 87 Rec Yds.
Quietly going about his business. He only caught 1 ball for 15 yards in week three and with the way the Bucs are using Stocker instead of Winslow, maybe we’ll have a switcheroo next week. I’ll think on this, because the call might end up being Luke Stocker afterall.
22. Lance Kendricks (LW: 16) — -8 Rush Yds, 69 Rec Yds.
Things still haven’t come together in St. Louis, unfortunately.
21. Doug Baldwin (LW: 21) — -2 Rush, 110 Rec, 1 TD
Sidney Rice is back and put up a huge game, but Baldwin’s still intriguing.
20. Christian Ponder (LW: 23) – none
Again, McNabb? I know the 4th quarter blowups aren’t solely McNabb’s fault, but the fans in Minnesota are beginning to call for Ponder.
19. Jacquizz Rodgers (LW: 15) — 24 Rush Yds, 52 Rec Yds.
Turner still looks older than you’d expect considering the miles on his legs, so Rodgers should have a chance to eventually make an impact.
18. Delone Carter (LW: 13) — 82 Rush Yds
Live and let Addai is starting to come into his own, but I’m still in love with Carter’s ability to run hard.
17. Stevan Ridley (LW: 17) — 53 Rush Yds, 8 Rec Yds.
A bit more playing time means a bit more production. Still high on the pre-season darling. He averaged 6.3 Yards per carry and notched 44 rush yards. He’s at 5.3 YPC on the year.
16. Greg Little (LW: 14) — 74 Rec Yds.
He’s starting to look comfortable and Massaquoi is still injury-prone, but it’ll take time. On the final drive, he looked terrific. I think he nabbed three catches for 24 which were his only grabs on the day.
15. DeMarco Murray (LW:
— 27 Rush Yds, 17 Rec Yds.
Felix Jones played but Dallas had no problem going to Murray in the second half. A slight downgrade because Jones appears to be able to play through pain, but heading into Week Four, Jones is again questionable.
14. Roy Helu (LW: 11) — 91 Rush Yds, 55 Rec Yds
It’s still just a matter of touches for Helu. Dallas looked great against the run in Week 3, and I’m not sure if everyone from here on out will continue to key on the run and let Rex Grossman be Rex Grossman.
13. Dane Sanzenbacher (LW:18) — 66 REC Yds, 2 TD
Another week and another touchdown for Dane Sanzenbacher. With Greg Olsen gone to Carolina, Dane and Jay are establishing a solid quarterback-to-possession receiver combo.
12. Randall Cobb (LW: 10) – 73 Rec Yds, 1 TD, 1 Return TD
Cobb’s slowly falling down the list, but his explosive skillset keeps him high.
11. Blaine Gabbert (LW: 7) — 191 Pass Yds, 1 TD, 1 INT, -3 Rush
Gabbert saw his Jaguars lose the lead against the Panthers, but there’s sunshine on the horizon. New Orleans should be a solid make-or-break game for Gabbert.
10. Kendall Hunter (LW: 24) — 30 Rush Yds, 1 TD, 12 REC Yds
We’ll pretend the downgrade didn’t happen. Frank Gore is looking terrible and came out after the game and said that he hurt himself and that’s why he was ineffective. Hunter could actually see starter’s PT despite Gore’s big contract.
9. Titus Young (LW: 12) — 140 REC Yards
Pretty solid week with 4 catches for 51 yards. He’s really starting to come into his own as teams double team Calvin.
8. Torrey Smith (LW: UNRK) – 10 RUSH Yds, 152 REC Yds, 3 REC TD.
I’ve really been down on Torrey because of the plethora of targets that the Ravens have at wide-out and their great defense and running game. I figured the Ravens would be leading and in turn, running out, quite a few games but that doesn’t seem to be the case. With that said, Lee Evans is going to be a game time decision again in Week 4. Record setting performances will bump you from UNRK to 8th, but I can’t place him higher….yet.
7. Denarius Moore (LW: 9) — 48 Rush Yds. 1 TD, 180 REC Yds, 1 TD
He followed up last week’s performance pretty well. He’ll keep moving up if given the opportunity and Al Davis loves speed so….
6. Mark Ingram (LW: 5) — 129 Rushing, 1 TD
It’s just a matter of yardage. The touchdowns are coming (slowly) but the yardage in that offense won’t get any better when those WRs get healthy.
5. Andy Dalton (LW:3) — 570 Pass Yds, 3 TD, 2 INT, 8 Rush YDs.
Rough game, but he still looks solid. The 49ers have put together a very solid D.
4. Julio Jones (LW: 4) -- -9 Rush, 215 Rec
Put together one hoot of a game and still has the greatest natural gifts of anyone outside of Cam Newton (and that’s close)
3. Daniel Thomas (LW: 6) — 202 Rush, 37 Rec Yds, 1 TD.
Another great game for the Miami Rookie. With the Dolphins 0-and-3 though, there will probably be some serious changes coming. Maybe Thomas getting starter carries is one of those changes, but at the same time, maybe it’ll turn into a full-out passing squad with Reggie Bush getting the looks. Thomas seems to be the only thing working right now in Miami…
2. A.J. Green (LW: 2) – 194 Receiving, 2 TDs
I’m willing to just write off Week 3 for both Dalton and Green. He’s still a great option heading forward. I honestly don’t know if Cedric Benson’s absence will increase his number of opportunities or totally stunt the offense.
1. Cam Newton (LW: 1) — 1012 Pass Yards, 4 TD, 3 INT, 98 Rush, 2 TD.
Not a bad game, but not what we’ve grown accustomed to either. The Panthers won, and I suppose in the end, that’s all that matters.
That’s it for now, I’ll get some solid descriptions up shortly.
